about

Well *here's* a depressing one. The working title was "Co-dependent Blues". I like the chords, anyway. Anne Spector's violin(s) really put a shine on it, especially since I couldn't think of a guitar solo for this to save my life.

lyrics

I spose that I could take better care of myself
Maybe if I gave a damn about myself
I can't afford all this poison I'm taking
She brings me more to stop me from shaking

She comes to my place wearing a bittersweet smile
I want her to stay, she stays just a little while
She'll bring the wine that I'll drink to forget her
Always she leaves, and always I let her

The days are too long, but it's lethal at night
Too many Shadows so I'll put out the light

She, she pities me for things that I'll never be
But she's always kind, she tries not to let me see
It's not her fault that I know what she's thinking
And it's my fault that she knows that I'm sinking

Too many Shadows so I'll put out the light...
