about

I saw a bumper sticker a while back that read, "Warning - you might not be as slick as you think you are." I also read a lot of mysteries. So I kind of got hung up on the idea of people on the gray side who maybe aren't as slick as the people they might be trying to take advantage of. This song came out of all that. Sorry.

lyrics

He don't want to complain, don't want to make a fuss
But he's holding the bag and he's under the bus
He had himself a plan but he'd better face the facts
He ain't making friends so he better make tracks
Things are looking sketchy I think he better chant the
Rattlesnake Sutra and the Spider Skull Mantra

She lost a bet and she knows she can't pay
She got no place to go, she got no place to stay
She'll grab her cat and jump into her car
She'll get some sleep in Bozeman if she make it that far
Things are turning awkward I think she better chant the
Rattlesnake Sutra and the Spider Skull Mantra

It ain't about you, it's just the money
So come down off your cross and quit whining honey
There's something in the bathtub you could use some help to hide
They're asking tough questions and you're feeling tongue-tied
Things have gone pear-shaped, I think it's time to chant the
Rattlesnake Sutra and the Spider Skull Mantra
